Recognising when you require a boiler service versus a heating repair is vital. Boiler servicing, akin to a car’s MOT, is an annual check-up for safety, efficiency, and performance, including replacing specified parts as instructed by the manufacturer. Mainly, a boiler service is preventive, catching issues before they happen!
Boiler repairs, however, are required when a breakdown occurs and your boiler stops producing heating or hot water. Our standard boiler servicing and “Cosy Plan” service plan does not cover repairs or faulty boilers, focusing instead on preventive maintenance.

Your main service is required every five years (six to nine years for Worcester Bosch models), takes 2–3 hours and includes all serviceable parts, gaskets, seals and electrodes plus a full chemical test and inhibitor re-dose. Priced from £300 depending on your boiler, this comprehensive check keeps your system safe, efficient and under warranty. If you’re on our Cosy Plan, your monthly payment covers the entire service, including parts, chemicals and labour, so you never pay a penny extra.

“Excellent installation of Glow Worm boiler by Vincent a few months ago. My previous boiler was never up to this standard and now enjoy hot water plus portable remote thermostat + timer for regulating the heating which I’ve found really good for cutting in when night time temperatures drop very low, then switch off again when reach the minimum set temperature. Vincent is extremely skilled and experienced, worked tirelessly and went above and beyond to complete this installation. We recommend boiler cover to help ensure your boiler is covered to help you avoid those cold nights and freezing showers. We'll make sure your boiler is in top working condition all year round with our annual service. Having your boiler serviced annually also keeps your warranty valid. That means if you have any issues with the boiler, you'll be covered by your warranty and won't have to pay for any repairs. An annual check can also ensure that your boiler is as energy-efficient as possible.
If we spot something that needs fixing, we’ll explain what’s going on and what your options are — no pressure, no pushy sales.
Not really – but it’s even more important to stay on top of servicing because it’s a premium model with a longer warranty (up to 12 years if looked after properly).
